About
Blockchain engineering, built on a decade of hard systems work.
I'm Andrea Simeoni, a blockchain engineer. Today my work centers on Solana, after three-plus years deep in the Ethereum execution stack, and it all sits on ten years of building production software in demanding, regulated environments. Bulkan Technologies EOOD is the legal and professional vehicle through which I take on that work independently.

Where I am now
I work on high-performance blockchain infrastructure: execution clients, protocol-level components, and the low-latency systems around them. My current focus is Solana. Before that I spent three-plus years on EVM-based chains, building custom L1 node infrastructure on top of Reth, extending execution clients, and writing event-driven systems in Rust with end-to-end latencies in the single-digit-to-tens of milliseconds.
The decade underneath it
Blockchain is where I am now, but it stands on a long foundation. For ten years I engineered production software in regulated banking and enterprise environments: core payment flows, lending platforms, and high-throughput services where correctness, security, and reliability were not negotiable. I led full-stack teams as a technical lead, introduced testing and code-review discipline, automated delivery pipelines, and ran infrastructure on Kubernetes and Terraform.
Further back, my roots are academic: a master's in computer engineering specialized in computer networks, research on software-defined networking within an EU project, and an award for that work. Distributed systems and networks aren't a buzzword for me. They're where I started.
Open source
I'm an active contributor to the Rust Web3 ecosystem, with open-source work on Reth, Foundry, and ethers-rs. I also deploy, operate, and scale full nodes in cloud Kubernetes clusters, and spend a good amount of time on on-chain analysis and protocol research.
Why I work independently
Bulkan Technologies EOOD lets me engage with clients as a clear legal entity while keeping the relationship personal: you work directly with me, not with a layer in between. I take on focused engagements where deep, senior engineering actually moves the needle.
What you can rely on
- Depth where it counts. Real work on execution clients, protocol components, and low-latency systems, not surface-level integration.
- Engineering rigor. A decade in environments where a bug had real consequences, and the habits that come with it.
- Straight talk. Honest assessments of risk, effort, and trade-offs, in language your team and your stakeholders can both follow.
